The past Wednesday, 11th of March, the revival of our Del Sacromonte a Nueva York: Un tributo a Omega show (From Sacromonte to New York: A tribute to Omega) took place at Granada’s Alhambra Theater. This show was presented within the the framework of Danza Sin Barrera Dance Days II (complete schedule here), making it accessible to individuals with visual impairment through a guided tactile tour of the show. In addition, a simultaneous audio description system via audio guides was used, performed by Luisa Bernstorff (interpreter) with the support of the ONCE and the University of Granada (UGR). Contemporary dance, flamenco and audiovisual productions immerse Alhambra Theater in a journey that connects the reflection and condemnation of the Crash of 1929; revealed in Poeta en Nueva York by Federico García Lorca, with the present. Danced by a cast of twelve dancers from the LamatDance and Cía. Danza Vinculados companies, as a tribute to Omega by Enrique Morente and Lagartija Nick (lyrics and music by Lorca and Cohen), considered the most transgressive flamenco-rock album of all time. The music of Omega is combined with a new musical creation produced by Bum Creaciones for the show. The lighting provided by Héctor D. Ruano complements the projections of Útopi Social Films that transport us to New York. The show is directed by the choreographer Carmen Vilches in collaboration with Lara Balboa (dancer and assistant manager), Óscar Martínez and Pau Cirre (audiovisual scenographies), Javier Viana (dramaturgy and musical production). The cast is made up of Lara Balboa, Ignacio Lasala, Almudena Ballesteros, Estefanía López, Gabriel López, Anabel Romero, Andrea Ruiz, Lorena Álvarez, Lucía Aguilar, Marina Casanova, Marta Casares and Rebeca Palomino.
