CARMEN VILCHES SÁNCHEZ (DIRECTOR)
Artistic director and choreographer of LamatDance, an international company based in London and Granada. Degree in Contemporary Dance BA Hons from the Laban Center London. Artistic director and international coordinator of the European Culture Project and the dance production tour Interwoven, which has dancers, musicians and visual artists from Spain, England and Bulgaria. Specialist in creative pedagogy, design and management of educational-cultural projects. She has worked for seven years as a Creative Agent and Manager for the Royal Opera House and Creative Partnerships in London. Currently she combines her activity as Artistic Director of LamatDance Company and Cía. Danza Vinculados with her work as a child and youth educator and teacher trainer for Primary, Secondary and Higher Education teachers.
SARA FERNÁNDEZ ÁLVAREZ (ASSISTANT DIRECTOR)
Degree in Psychology from the University of Granada. Professional dancer specialized in Flamenco Dance from “Reina Sofía” Professional Dance Conservatory of Granada. Currently at her final year of the Master’s Degree in Dance, Movement and Therapy at the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona. In addition, she collaborates with the contemporary dance company, Trànsit Dansa (Barcelona), directed by the choreographer Maria Rovira. She has been co-choreographer and corps de ballet on the AICEA tour in the People’s Republic of China as well as corps de ballet in the Universo Morente tribute with the bailaora Fuensanta “La Moneta”. Between 2013 and 2016 she has been a member of “La Moneta” Urban Flamenco Choreographic Laboratory. In 2015 she co-founded INTERVALO danza company. She has been part of the show Del Sacromonte a Nueva York which took place in July 2017 at the Cuevas del Sacromonte Museum (Granada).
LARA BALBOA AYALA (assistant director)
Contemporary dance dancer, choreographer and teacher. Trained in classical and contemporary dance in Barcelona and Madrid at the Royal Academy of Dance, by Carmen Roche and Víctor Ullate. She has graduated of Pedagogy of Contemporary Dance at the Conservatorio Superior de Danza of Málaga. She has been part of the companies Only Four (Barcelona) and Cía. Interacción Danza (Switzerland) and she is currently a member of Maiko Danza (Granada) and LamatDance Company (England). For more than ten years she has taught classical and contemporary dance, both nationally and internationally, combining it with technical training for acrobatic and rhythmic gymnastics. Since 2013, her work in the company encompasses the training of the dancers and the choreographic creation of the productions. She is a regular dance and choreography teacher.
